Puppet Theater is the beginning of “Opera with Puppets” with the production of “Turandot” by Giacomo Puccini and “Faust” by Charles Gounod /2022/
2017 – world premiere of the opera-musical “Sisi – the Soul of an Empress” by the Austrian composer Roland Baumgartner
2016 – in assistance with the Football Club “Beroe” is set the beginning of “Opera in the Stadium” with the opera “Aida” /2016 and 2021/ and “Nabucco” by Giuseppe Verdi, as well as “Carmen” by Georges Bizet
2013 – “Dido and Aeneas” is the first meeting of the Stara Zagora citizens with Henry Purcell and his opera
2013 – with the rarely performed opera “Un giorno di regno” is marked the 200 th anniversary of Verdi’s birth
5 October 2010 – on the Day of Stara Zagora, with the premiere of the opera “Carmen” by Georges Bizet, the Opera building again opens its doors

1999 – with the premiere of the opera “Ernani” by Giuseppe Verdi is opened the new stage in the open – the Antique Forum “Augusta Trayana”
1997-2009 – the creative activity is transferred to the renovated Hall of the Theater

1974 – The December Music Days Festival grows into Festival of the Opera and Ballet Arts, and every five years in its timeframe is held the National Review of the Bulgarian Opera Theaters

Bizet, “La boheme” By G. Puccini, “Prince Igor” by Al. Borodin, “Der Freischutz” by Weber, “Un ballo in Maschera”, “Don Carlos” and “Simon Boccanegra” by G. Verdi.
1946 – the Theater is established as a state cultural institute – People’s Opera – Stara Zagora directly managed and financed by the Ministry of Information and the Arts

1942 – The Municipality gives for rehearsals of the Opera the former building of the Stara Zagora Radio opposite the City Garden /today a Supermarket/
1934 – the troupe is renamed as the Stara Zagora Municipal Opera. The premiere of the opera “Pearl Fishers” by G. Bizet
1931 – the Theater is renamed as South Bulgarian Regional Opera
1928 – the Theater grows into the Regional Opera – Stara Zagora and a region for performances in Burgas, Tarnovo and Plovdiv. The premiere of “La traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi
1925 – with the premiere of the opera “Gergana” by Maestro Georgi Atanasov is founded the first permanently active out of the capital opera troupe in Bulgaria
