The comic opera “Don Pasquale” is a true standard in the genre of opera buffa – an entertaining story, sharp humor, comic situations with unexpected turns… The pleasant-looking miser Pasquale, his nephew Ernesto, who is in love, the inventive swindler Malatesta and the charming and sly Norina make up a gallery of bright types of characters. Actually, the great Italian master of the Italian bel canto, Donizetti, expresses his bitter irony about love, marriage and hypocrisy in life.  Thus personages turn into full-blooded and convincing characters. The action is dynamic as in every comic opera. And the story tells of events which are in profusion today – an elderly man with money, who wants to have a young wife.
