The production is the third premiere for Bulgaria and it is the first time it is presented outside the capital city. Unlike the other hit titles by Imre Kalman, Die Herzogin von Chicago makes the performers face much more difficult vocal tasks. The theme is topical nowadays as well – the invasion of the American music and dances in Europe and the clash between the two cultures. The other basic leitmotif in the action is the dramatic choice between money and love. “Magnificent sets, interesting lighting, graceful ballet, symphony orchestra are part of the beautiful show with which the spectators meet.”
Duration: 2 hours and 20 minutes with one interval
