The spectacle is about the eternal themes of love and the contested freedom of women and their right to choice, recreated in an entertaining and original way by the director Ursula Horner. She brought the action from 18th into the first decades of 20th century, when technological and fashion inventions invaded the Orient as well. Horner is known to the Bulgarian audiences for her spectacle of the opera “The Tales of Hoffmann” by Jacques Offenbach in Ruse and Plovdiv, “Il trovatore” in Plovdiv and “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, which guest-performed at the Festival of the Opera and Ballet Arts in Stara Zagora 2018.
