The Seven Deadly Sins is the result of the creative collaboration of composer Kurt Weill and dramatist Bertolt Brecht, defined as an opera-ballet. It features the main character, Anna, with two performers – a singer (showing the external features of the heroine) and a dancer (an embodiment of her inner character). The performance tells the story of a girl who leaves her home in order to find work in the large American cities, hoping to gain enough money so that her family can build a house on the banks of the Mississippi River. On her way she is “seduced” by each of the seven biblical sins.
