“The main character is the famous lover – Casanova – a legendary figure of the 18 th century – a man of diverse interests – a trader, politician, diplomat, philosopher, poet, writer, who wrote several plays and over twenty books, but mostly known as the great lover from Venice. In our story, we look from a somewhat different angle at this person. Every man dreams of embodying in his life the seducer man-symbol Casanova. The director’s perspective ironizes the merely male vanity, goes through the comedy and at the final acquires even the quality of the grotesque. At the basis of the musical is the text, which is developed in the spectacle in its second aspect – quite ironically. A text which is based on the autobiographic composition by Casanova, i.e. “Story of My Life”, where he immortalizes his promiscuous love affairs.”
