Offenbach wrote the operetta for the Theatre des Bouffes Parisiens in 1857. Slavcho Nikolov as a director decided to shift the time of the action 60 years after its creation – during the First World War. Two aristocratic families have been at war against each other without knowing why they have been fighting. Amidst the multiple comic and absurdly unpredictable changes the war is stopped.
The premiere is dedicated to 100 since the First World War and is realized with the kind assistance of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Performed in Bulgarian
Premiere: 16 December 2016
