The brilliant and witty situational comedy is structured masterfully with a dramaturgical device known from the time of Shakespeare – transvestite comedy. Dressing men in ladies’ costumes, performing female roles, turns the difficult and entwined situations into a joke! With each change, the protagonist feels more and more deeply the woman’s nature, he himself starts flirting and behaving like a woman, which additionally enhances the comic effect.
During the whole action a happy feeling is sensed, a feeling of chaos and joy. The notorious line: “I am Charley’ aunt. From Brazil, where there are many pineapples, bananas, lagoons and monkeys!”- has become a chatch phrase in different versions. The spectacle combines English humor, Russian music, and for luxury – an aunt from Brazil. Jazz, Latino and classical music complete the plot and make the play more entertaining and pleasant to watch.
