Olesya Pantikina staged the cult dance drama to the original choreography by Margarita Arnaudova. The creator of the first Bulgarian modern troupe “Arabesque” gave a choreographic expression to the exceptional music by Marin Goleminov in 1978 and after that staged the unforgettable entire version of the ballet The Fire-Dancer in 1986, specially for the National Ballet, in which the leading role was also danced by Prima ballerina Silviya Tomova – currently artistic director of the Ballet of the Stara Zagora Opera. It is this choreographic version that the new production of the Stara Zagora State Opera is based on. The dance spectacle entwines the ethnic motifs of a real ritual which is held on the Day of Saints Konstantin and Elena, and the lyrical drama of a girl in love.
