The content of the work presents the death of the Greek student in geology Kostas Georgakis on 19 September 1970 as a protest against the military dictatorship in Greece. Flames in the Sails of the Night is a psychological drama which enters into the genre of the historical and political opera-oratorio. It presents the rebellion of the personality against the atrocities of the people in power.
