The dramatic story in the opera Cavalleria rusticana presents in the authentic Sicilian atmosphere, the costumes are historically faithful to the time when the action takes place – at the end of 19th century. The Master – scenographer and costumographer Salvatore Russo incorporates in the scenic vision the architectural symbols of Sicily, uses the typical of the region everyday facilities and attributes, dresses the characters in characteristic costumes with colorful ethno-elements. Director Ignacio Okipinti consciously looks for a different and more vivid interpretation of the drama full of emotions and southern passions.
