“Le nozze di Figaro”, though a well-known opera to the Bulgarian audiences, is rarely performed and not everywhere. The Stara Zagora Opera for example, has only one performance of this opera – the premiere, which was on 27 October 1966, emphasizes Denis Ivanov, director, author of the scenography and costumes.

The project “Opera in a Suitcase” aims to attract a wide circle of spectators. It is a format which traces all the dramaturgic and musical action of the opera, skipping the recitatives and finales of the first three acts. This format makes the spectacle mobile and it can be presented everywhere on different stages, even in atypical scenic spaces, but its strongest quality is that with this lightness the strict classic becomes accessible and in this way attracts larger audiences.
