Ivaylo Dzhurov
Bass
He graduated in Chamber Singing from the Royal Academy in The Hague, the Netherlands (1994). He specialized in Opera Singing, tutored by Alexandrina Miltcheva (1995 – 1997).
He made his professional debut in 1996 at the Easter Festival – Plovdiv with the Oster-Oratorium by Bach. From 1997 to 2000, he worked with the Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio, and with its Choir he completed recordings and concerts of Eastern Orthodox Slavic Chants.
In 2001, he debuted in the role of Figaro in “Le nozze di Figaro” and Leporello in “Don Giovanni” by Mozart in Belgium and the Netherlands.
In March 2002, he performed “Magnificat” by Bach together with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and conductor Rene Jacobs in Leipzig. A turning point in the development of his career was the role of Philip II in “Don Carlos” by Verdi. In 2003, he guest-performed this role in Bulgaria, as well as in Austria, Germany, Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, the USA and other countries.
Since 2015 he has been soloist with the Stara Zagora State Opera.
