Ivaylo Mihaylov

In 1997, he acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Singing from the State Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” – Sofia in the class of Valeri Popova. In 2002, he specialized at the Academy „Boris Chistoff” in Rome, where he studied under the guidance of Giuseppe Taddei, after that he continued his studies at the Academy of Opera Baroque Art in Osimo (Italy) tutored by Luigi Alva and William Matteuzzi. His longest training was under the guidance of Kaludi Kaludov.
He acquired a Master’s Degree in “Vocal Pedagogy” from the New Bulgarian University in the class of Prof. Rusko Ruskov (2002), in “Art Management” from the Academy for Music and Dance and Visual Arts – Plovdiv, tutored by Zhivka Busheva (2010), and in “Music Stage Director” from the Academy for Music and Dance and Visual Arts – Plovdiv, tutored by Prof. Pavel Gerdzhikov. He debuted as a director with the opera “Bastien und Bastienne” by W. A. Mozart.
He played the role of Ernani in the eponymous opera by Giuseppe Verdi in the co-production of the Sofia National Opera and Ballet and the Varna Opera (2012). He has guest-performed in Romania, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Japan and other countries. In 2013/2014, he was a mentor and judge at the first edition of Popstar to Operastar – Vietnam and a vocal pedagogue for X Factor. He has recordings with the Bulgarian National Radio, Bulgarian National Television, VestTV and Radiotelevisione italiana.
In 2018, he joined the soloist team of the Stara Zagora State Opera.
