Margarita Karagyozova

Vocal Pedagogue
Margarita Karagyozova (mezzosoprano) was born in Stara Zagora into the family of musicians. She graduated from the State Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” – initially in the Estrada Department (1975), and subsequently “Opera Singing” in the class of Konstantsa Vachkova (1984). Her specialization was under the guidance of Reni Penkova – mezzosoprano.
After 1986 she left for Italy, where she continued her training, taught by Arrigo Pola, Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni, Magda Olivero, and Ghena Dimitrova.
In 1996, she created the opera school Lirica Kaga in Genoa, where she is still teaching vocal technique. Many of her students are prizewinners at competitions and are engaged by the operas in Genoa, Bologna, Bari, Venice, Nice, Palermo, Paris, Torino and others.
Since 2014 she has been a vocal consultant, and since 2015 – a vocal pedagogue at the Stara Zagora State Opera. She is the initiator of the project “The Young in Classical Music”.
