Silviya Tomova

She graduated from the State Ballet Academy “A. Y. Vaganova” in Saint Petersburg, Russia (1978). She is a laureate of the international ballet competitions in Varna, Osaka, Paris and Moscow. She is prima ballerina of the National Opera with over 90 leading roles danced in classical and modern ballets.
She was artistic director of the Ballet of the Sofia Opera and Ballet (2003-2007), Plovdiv Opera (2009 – 2010), Ruse Opera (2013 – 2016), and since 2016 – of the Ballet troupe of the Stara Zagora State Opera.
Since 2005 she has been executive director of the Bulgarian Ballet Association. Since 1996 she has been chairperson of the National Committee for Dance Art in Bulgaria. She teaches at the National School for Dance Art, National Academy for Theater and Film Arts “Krastyo Sarafov” and the New Bulgarian University.
She has realized numerous productions as a choreographer. She has participated in various television and film productions. She has worked as an assistant choreographer of George Janko, Mario Piazza, Fredy Franzutti, Carla Fracci, and a choreographer of Julieta Cantaluppi and Kristina Guiourova.
