Presentation of an edition, dedicated to the artist by Flavia Pappacena and author’s exhibition of scenography and costumes
Salvatore Russo is a disciple of the Academy for Fine Arts in Rome, he debuted as scenographer and costume-artist of the ballet Tre Canzoni Italiane in the Roman Opera /1962/, invited by conductors Tullio Serafin and Giovacchino Forzano. He also worked for Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Great Opera Theatre in Tokyo, Opera Seattle, the opera theaters in Sao Paolo, Manaus, as well as for television and film productions in Italy and the USA. He has participated in productions of the Sofia, Ruse, Stara Zagora and Varna operas. He is laureate of the grand Italian Prize “Positano” for the scenography and costumes of the ballet Masques Ostendes by R. Vlad and G. Corelli /1970/, and the high prize “Torre d`Argento” /1988/.
