Ivan Kabamitov

Baritone
He graduated from the State Music Academy “Pancho Vladigerov” in 1997, then he specialized at the Academy for the Arts and Culture “Boris Chistoff” in Rome in 1999, and in 2005 was a scholarship-holder at the Academy “Chigiana” under the guidance of Renato Bruson. In 2013, he completed a masterclass in French Chamber Music, taught by Emmanuelle Cordoliani and Nicolas Sheneau (French Cultural Institute in Bulgaria).
He was a prizewinner at the International Competition for Young Opera Singers “Boris Christoff” (2000), “Puldin” (2002) and the International Art Festival in Pyongyang, (2007).
He debuted at the Varna Opera in 1996, in the role of Guglielmo in “Cosi fan tutte” by Mozart. Since 2012, he has been soloist with the Stara Zagora State Opera.
He is founder and chairperson of the Foundation for the Arts and Culture “The Fire of Orphey” (2007), member of the board of Association “Boris Christoff” in Plovdiv. As a teacher, he conducts and organizes masterclasses in opera singing at the Summer Art Academy “The Fire of Orphey” in Shiroka Laka and “Spring in the Old City”, Plovdiv. He works with gifted children in homes for parentless children.
