Rumen Kakamakov

Concertmaster

Born in Gorna Oryahovitsa, he finished the Secondary Music School “Dobri Hristov” – Varna and graduated from the Academy for Music, Dance and Painting Arts – Plovdiv (1977).

He worked as assistant-concertmaster in the Drama and Music Theater “Konstantin Kisimov” – Veliko Tarnovo (1977 – 1980), orchestra-member in the State Philharmonic Orchestra – Plovdiv (1980 – 1987), where he was also assistant-concertmaster (1987 – 1990) and concertmaster (1991 – 2003). At the same time he was also concertmaster of the Plovdiv Chamber Orchestra and first violin of the String Quartet “Plovdiv”. He was also concertmaster of the Symphonic Orchestra in Ardana, Turkey (2004 – 2007), the Symphonic Orchestra – Haskovo (2008 – 2012), the Orchestra of the Ruse State Opera (2013 – 2017).
He has had soloist participations in Plovdiv, Haskovo, Vratsa, Brno, Vienna, Leipzig, Poznan, Munich and Adana.

Since 2018 he has been concertmaster of the Orchestra of the Stara Zagora State Opera.
