Bass
He graduated from the National Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” (1979). He specialized in Interpretation under the guidance of Prof. Kim Borg – Weimar, Germany (1974). He finished the masterclasses in Sofia, given by Prof. Iliya Yosifov (1980) and Ghena Dimitrova (1988). He specialized at the Academy for Art and Culture in Rome, tutored by Boris Christoff.
His scenic debut was the role of the Army Leader in the opera “The Golden Bird” by Marin Goleminov (1979). Since then he has been soloist with the Stara Zagora State Opera.
He is a prizewinner of the International Competition for Young Opera Singers – Sofia (1983), Re Manfredi“, the city of Manfredonia, Italy (1990) and “Beniamino Gili“– the city of Sirmione, Italy (1993).
He guest-performed individually and with the troupe of the Stara Zagora State Opera in Russia, Greece, Italy and other countries.
In the period 1998 – 2003 he was the director of the Opera, and in 2010 – 2012 he was its chief artistic director.
